As a platform created by Filipino educators, technologists, parents, and students, we are deeply committed to doing what is right, not just what is profitable or popular. This Ethics Code serves as our compass. It defines how we build, serve, and grow—with integrity, intention, and a shared purpose.
We put learning at the center of everything we do. That means we design GUIA not just to help students pass exams, but to truly understand what they’re studying. We do not chase engagement for engagement’s sake. We avoid gamification that pressures students or promotes surface-level success. Instead, we reward consistency, effort, and growth. We aim to create a space where learning feels personal, meaningful, and sustainable—especially in a world full of distractions.
GUIA uses AI to support, not replace, human learning. Our AI personalizes study paths, adapts test difficulty, and offers instant feedback. But it will never rank a child’s potential or make decisions about their worth. We do not use any personal data—like names, test scores, or behavioral patterns—to train or fuel our AI systems. We are transparent about how and where AI is used in the platform, and we ensure that every student, parent, and teacher understands the role of AI as a guide—not a judge.
We serve a young, vulnerable audience, and we take that responsibility seriously. GUIA goes beyond basic compliance with the Philippines’ Data Privacy Act. We never sell or misuse student data. For users under 18, we require parental or guardian consent. Our design choices—from progress pacing to feedback nudges—are made with student mental health in mind. We avoid manipulative design (no dark patterns) and emphasize positive reinforcement, reflection, and balance. Our goal is to create a safe, encouraging space for students to grow.
Education should be fair and accessible—regardless of where a student lives or what device they’re using. We design GUIA with the realities of Filipino students in mind, including limited bandwidth, shared devices, and unequal access to formal tutoring. That’s why we offer a freemium model, group pricing options, and inclusive content that meets learners where they are. We believe real learning doesn’t only happen in ideal conditions—it happens when students are seen, supported, and empowered in real life.
Trust is our most important currency. We commit to earning it by being transparent, responsible, and open to feedback. We clearly communicate how data is handled, how AI works, and what users can expect from the platform. If we make mistakes, we own them. If we receive criticism, we listen. Our systems are governed by local and global standards for data privacy and AI ethics, and we work actively to ensure compliance, review risk, and adjust when necessary. We don’t just want to be trusted—we want to be trustworthy.
GUIA wasn’t created in a vacuum. It was shaped by the real experiences of students, teachers, parents, and developers—together. From our early pilot sessions with high schoolers to our ongoing partnerships with teachers from Miriam College, Assumption, and Ateneo, GUIA is a co-created platform. We believe that educational tools should be designed with the people who use them. We honor the voices of our community by including them in our decisions, listening actively, and building with—not for—them.
We see GUIA as more than a tech product—it’s our contribution to the country. Born out of a father’s frustration and a team’s shared hope, GUIA is a long-term commitment to uplifting Filipino learners. We aim to level the playing field, reduce educational inequality, and make AI an opportunity—not a threat—for our youth. We do this not only by helping students pass exams, but by giving them the tools to become thoughtful, ethical, and future-ready citizens.
