Quick answer

The UPCAT 2027, for students entering college in AY 2027–2028, was held on August 1 and 2, 2026, and results are expected in the first half of 2027. This checklist gives you the key dates, the required steps, and simple ways to help your child prepare. Always confirm the latest dates on the UP Office of Admissions website, since the university can extend or adjust them.

Confirm the dates

Dates below are from UP Office of Admissions announcements for the UPCAT 2027 cycle. UP can extend or adjust them — always reconfirm on the official UP website. UP has not yet announced the UPCAT 2028 dates. When it does, check each step below against the new UP announcement.

Confirmed UPCAT 2027 dates

Here are the key dates for the UPCAT 2027 cycle:

WhenWhat happens
Mar 3–30, 2026 ext. Apr 13Application period. The student submits Form 1 online.
Mar 3–Apr 10, 2026 ext. Apr 24For Grade 11 students, the senior high school confirms the student in the Form 2A portal.

First half of 2027Results are released.

If you are preparing for the UPCAT 2028, UP has not yet announced its dates. Use this list as a guide, and check each date against UP's announcement when it comes out.

The paperwork checklist

Work through these steps in order:

  1. Check that your child is eligible: a Grade 11 student who expects to finish senior high school by the end of the next school year, or a senior high school graduate. Your child must not have taken the UPCAT before, or any college courses.
  2. Help your child submit Form 1 during the application window.
  3. Follow up with the school to confirm your child in the Form 2A portal before the deadline. Do not assume this is done. Check it yourself.
  4. Watch for the test permit in July.
  5. Prepare a valid school ID or government ID for exam day.
  6. After the exam, submit grades through Form 2B and send the SF-10 on time.

Keep all logins, dates, and documents in one folder. This simple habit prevents most application problems.

Why each step matters

The steps look small, but each one counts. If the school does not confirm your child in the Form 2A portal, the test permit is not released, and your child cannot take the exam. If grades are not submitted after the test, the application is incomplete. One missed step can undo a year of hard work. That is why a checklist helps so much.

How to help your child prepare

Handling the paperwork gets your child into the exam room. Good preparation carries them through it. The UPCAT is hard. In the most recent cycle, only about 12 out of every 100 applicants qualified.

Here are simple, science-backed ways to prepare:

How Guia can help

The paperwork half of this checklist is a set of one-time tasks. The preparation half is the opposite: a habit you keep for months, and the harder half to sustain. That is where a simple daily tool earns its place.

Guia is an at-home UPCAT practice app that gives daily practice questions, full practice tests, instant feedback, and progress tracking you can check — the study tips above, turned into a routine. It is made specifically for Philippine entrance exams (the UPCAT, ACET, DCAT, and USTET), is rated 5 stars by verified students, and is already used by more than 1,000 students from over 200 schools across the country.

Guia is affordable, so it fits most families. If your child attends a review center, Guia adds daily practice on the days between classes. If a center is not in your budget, Guia works on its own, and you can pair it with a study group or a tutor so your child also has real people to learn with. Either way, you can start with just a few minutes of practice a day.
